It's being built with AI-assisted translation in mind, laying the groundwork for future retranslation, character memory, and terminology consistency tools.
Problem it solves
Many great web novels never reach their full potential because poor translations are filled with grammatical mistakes, inconsistent terminology, awkward sentence structure, and writing that breaks immersion. InkForge exists to change that. The current release provides the foundation—a premium reading platform—while the next major update will introduce AI-assisted translation enhancement to make these stories far more enjoyable to read.
Design philosophy
The interface is intentionally calm and unobtrusive, allowing readers to focus entirely on the story. Every element is designed to complement the reading experience while laying the foundation for InkForge's upcoming AI-powered translation enhancements.
Lessons learned
One of the biggest lessons was the importance of building reliable systems before intelligent ones. Features like reading progress, bookmarks, chapter tracking, and EPUB parsing needed to be dependable first, creating a solid foundation for the upcoming AI translation pipeline.
